La Loi du Sol

Street Photography

2016

Slide projection, 80 colour slides in a loop, 2017

For Street Photography, Jürgen Nefzger went to Valdeluz, a town some 70 km from Madrid that was meant to house nearly 35,000 people. Only a few thousand live there today, hemmed in by a fenced-off landscape crossed by roads closed to traffic and by cycle paths that lead nowhere. In these images, the streets are photographed in the blinding light of high summer. Shown as a slideshow running in a continuous loop, they make us lose all our bearings.
